A case study into the Newsquest news sites main navigation to a cohesive design across breakpoints.

The brief

The brief was to create a uniformed design for both mobile & desktop of the main navigation on the Newsquest news sites, incorporating a site specific colour option and easy access to the entire site without breaking current link structures.

After a survey from external testers it was concluded that the original navigation between mobile & desktop was confusing and not cohesive to the end user. You can see the steps in the design across the breakpoints in the responsive navigation below.

A/B testing of new navigation

The testing of the navigation will be conducted over 2 sites at the beginning of 2015 and I will post the conclusions in due course.
